Designed for a popular historical novelist,
this residence was completed in 1998. The residence is located on the
upper three floors of a Park Avenue, New York penthouse. High-end
residences of this type dictate that aesthetics govern the design concepts
for the Mechanical and Electrical systems. The Architectural designs
included marble and granite bathrooms, wood foyer and landscaped patios. New heating and air conditioning equipment
was designed to properly condition the space. Air conditioning equipment
consisted of split system equipment with interior air handlers located
above closet ceilings and exterior condensing units located on setback
roofs in the rear of the building. Special linear diffusers were employed
to provide proper air distribution with minimal aesthetic impact. Heating
radiators were concealed along the perimeter walls of the space. Plumbing work for this project proved to be
a major undertaking. All bathrooms in the residence were renovated.
Minimal access spaces were provided for piping. All new roughing piping
from the building risers was located below the finished floor to meet the
Architectural design criteria. New electric distribution panels, outlets and light fixtures were provided for the project. Electric conduit was re-routed to improve the appearance of the space and relocate devices as required. |
